My name is Jacob Morisi (Jake for short), and I am an IT Professional, Consultant, and Travel Advisor. I currently am employed Full Time as the Director of Technology at Greater Johnstown School District.

Education

I completed by Bachelors Degree in Information Technology at Mount Aloysius College from 2009-2012. During the final two years of my studies, I was employed full time working in the field. Since then, I have obtained numerous industry certifications, and I keep up with various continuing education opportunities.

Work

I got my start in the “real world” while still in High School working as a Server Admin/CTO of a very small technology company in Johnstown, PA. My duties included managing and setting up Windows and Linux based machines used for Shared Website hosting for multiple firms both locally and nationally. Eventually upon graduating High School, I was afforded an opportunity to work part-time at the school in their IT Department. I performed basic support work for two schools plus administrative staff, as well as Server and Network Administration duties. About a year into the position, I was promoted to Full-Time while I was a Junior in college. I maintained my school work as well as the Full-Time job and was able to graduate college a semester early.

In late 2012, I was hired by 1ST SUMMIT BANK as a Helpdesk Specialist and was soon after promoted to Network Administrator. I performed various 2nd Level support tasks for user group, as well as had ownership of all Network, Server, and Info. Security operations powering 16 branches and 4 thrift offices.

In October of 2016, I accepted a position as IT Manager at Martin-Baker America which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin-Baker Aircraft Company in the United Kingdom. Here I had the responsibility of all IT operations for Martin-Baker in the USA which consists of two offices with 160 employees locally and approximately ten employees stationed on air bases around the United States.

In January 0f 2026, I was offered and accepted the position of Technology Director for Greater Johnstown School District. This position leads the overall technology vision and strategy for the district which encompasses five district buildings and includes 300+ staff and 3,000+ students in a challenging social demographic.

Personal

I grew up and still am located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. It is a smaller town in Central Pennsylvania about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh. I live in a suburban Borough named Geistown where I served on their Planning Commission for close to six years, Mayor, and served a short time as Council President. I live with my beautiful wife Heather, our two dogs and four cats.

When I am not working; I enjoy traveling, brewing (and drinking) beer, bowling, and being a foodie. When not in Johnstown, you can usually find me traveling somewhere for work or play.

I formerly served as President of the Laurel Highlands USBC bowling association. I also serve on various local committees for local agencies including an educational Advisory Board for Commonwealth Technical Institute which provides skills/real world education, as well as job placement, to those with special needs.
